What is the EN 13594 standard for homologated motorcycle gloves?
It is a specific standard created in 2002 -and constantly updated- for the homologation of motorcycle gloves. The homologated gloves are tested for resistance to abrasion, tearing, breakage of seams, ergonomic behavior and good chemical behavior, so that there is no risk for people usage, such as the quality and pH of the glove skin and the quality of the dyes used.
In some countries such as France, since 2016, the use of
gloves EN 13594 certified is mandatory in pilots and co-drivers, non-use may be subject to a fine.
